My students just completed Federation two weeks ago and all received straight Superior ratings. I got an e-mail about the Davis Piano Competition the following week so I invited students to participate and three of my seven students entered. They all played so well and all placed in their division (there were two recitals and the girl in the middle hadn't received her trophy yet). Happy teacher moment!
S. (age 12) got 1st place-he played Avalanche by Stephen Heller. He prepared this piece with perfect accuracy and musicality. He is a great student, and was a crowd pleaser when he performed it!
E. (age 10) got 2nd place in her division --performed Spanish Romance by Martha Meir
M. (age 13) got 3rd place in her division--performed Whirlwind by Timothy Brown
