My friend told me her dad would always bring them a bunch of boxes conference weekend so their kids could build a temple while watching conference. We already had some fun tubes so I called an appliance store and went and picked up a few more boxes. It was so fun to build it together and Tanner was really involved in the process and both he and lincoln loved adding blocks, Styrofoam, and coloring the temple with markers.
They even decided to sleep in it!
In the morning we played General conference bingo and ate cinnamon rolls. Tanner was super attentive and would repeat any words the speakers were saying and ask it if it was on the bingo card. Tanner is easily bribed by anything that includes treats.
Lincoln carries Connect Four wherever he goes.
We added a window, but Tanner's favorite thing was to cover it up with these blocks and then punch out the hole of the window.
Dave always sets up his projector so it's fun to watch conference on the "big" screen. Tanner decided that the monkey should watch Conference too--which turned into multiple animals watching conference.
I don't get much out of conference during the live session, but i know creating memories and watching it is so important in created meaningful traditions for our kids. It's fun to see how our traditions develop as our kids get older.
